Vision

CulturePolis supports fully the vision of "Europe of Cultures Forum: Adriatic & Ionian Chapter” i.e to transform the "virtual" region of Europe "Adriatic-Ionian" into a place where all its citizens will be aware of possessing a common European citizenship, originating from common values, aims and commitments towards a democratic procedure, while respecting the particular cultural identities of every citizen and ensuring the tolerance among cultures that can be caused by racial, religious, linguistic, and other differences.

This vision is expanded and reinforced by embracing all the neighbouring peoples and countries preaching the same values and objectives.

Mission

CulturePolis continues and reinforces further the mission of “Europe of Cultures Forum: Adriatic & Ionian Chapter” which is: a) to protect, promote and ensure the understanding and respect of the cultural diversity - that we consider is the cultural wealth of Europe, and b) to create a platform which can be utilised by any organisation, citizen, or public institution in order to contribute in a better understanding and in protecting this unique cultural heritage by activating local Cultural Antennas in every area.

Aims

The aims of the organisation for all countries with emphasis on the Adriatic-Ionian , Baalkans and Mediterranean region are the following:

• To develop mutual contacts and exchanges between different cultures and organisations concerned with cultural identity and diversity issues within the context of a mutual cultural heritage and accepted values.
• To provide an area-platform for discussion, to participate in public and political dialogues, to promote studies and research in any subject that could potentially have repercussions to the cultures and peoples of all regions and Europe.
• To influence the political decision processes in Europe, in order to ensure that issues of cultural diversity and respect for it are taken seriously into consideration.
• To contribute to the intercultural dialogue at European and global level so as to strengthen mutual understanding, respect and tolerance.
• To contribute to the conception, development, implementation, promotion and dissemination of ideas, initiatives, programmes, projects and actions in the Adriatic-Ionian region, that are related mainly to cultural issues, in its broadest sense, with the sustainable development and the information and knowledge society.
• To promote research and studies of the interactions of the above initiatives with policies, programmes and actions in the broader region, with emphasis on regional development, culture and arts, tourism, economy, scientific research and technological development and innovation, life-long education and training, state-citizen relations and governance, as well as their repercussions on society.
