CulturePolis

"CulturePolis" is an International Cultural Partnership which starting from September 2008 gradually replaces “Europe of Cultures Forum: Adriatic & Ionian Chapter” as a structure an dorganisation. The Forum was founded in Corfu, Greece in 2006 and started promoting the activities of the "Brussels based NGO "Europe of Cultures Forum" in the "virtual" European region of the Adriatic and Ionian Sea, which is defined today by the following countries: Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovenia.

European non profit non governmental civil society organisation which aims at becoming a specialised platform for cultural collaboration among cultural organizations, govermental agencies, creators and cultural managers who through synergies and cooperation initiatives could contribute to achieve better knowledge, facilitate cultural creation and at the same time protect and promote the unique cultural heritage.

The presence of CulturePolis in each region is ensured by the creation of Cultural Antennas which reflect the local cultural identity in Europe and elsewhere and cooperate among them for the achievement of of the objectives o fteh organisation.Cultural Antennas in different countries and cities constitute a coherent network of common activities and cultural exchanges. The new structure , the activities and projects initiated in cooperation with individuals, municipalities, foundations and cultural organisations in Greece and other countries.CulturePolis continues the successful activities of the NGO “Europe of Cultures Forum: Adriatic & Ionian Chapter”

The new structure ensure the continuation and operation of the organisation, the Cultural Antennas, the activities and projects initiated in cooperation with individuals, municipalities, foundations and cultural organisations in Greece and other countries.

Today CulturePolis expands both geographically beyond Adriatic-Ionian to other cities of neighbouring countries of South-Eastern Europe, Balkans and Mediterranean and any other country where there is an interest from local actors, as well as thematically with important projects and initiatives in the framework of EU programmes such as Youth in Action, Culture 2007-2013, EuroMediterranean Programme, etc.
