CulturePolis

The European Cultural Network for Development Cooperation is a non-governmental organization under French law. It is recognized as international NGO and maintains official relations with UNESCO. It is accredited by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The European Cultural Network for Development Cooperation is an association of public interest.

The European Cultural Network for Development Cooperation was born out of sharing the powers of the Chamber of Mediterranean Fine Arts (French association for international solidarity) of Culturepolis (Greek Association) and Artkod (Association of Turkey). Our structures have, in fact, desired to work together so that our common action achieves a larger impact.

Our work aims to strengthen the cultural dimension of development, preserving cultural diversity and enhance the creative interaction between artists and craftsmen. We work for the establishment of a regulatory environment conducive to the recognition of the status of artists and craftsmen and adoption of cultural policies for development.

Our projects are always carried out in close collaboration with a network of local partners as well as representative of the institutions of civil society, who know the socio-cultural environment of countries and regions where we deploy our actions.

To promote crafts and crafts and to support the creators, we are implementing a number of activities:

• Workshops for reflection and exchange between cultural actors, institutions and representatives of civil society;
• Training to help artisans to stimulate their creativity, to improve the quality of their products and enhance their socio-economic impact;
• Exhibitions that highlight the artistic and artisan creation;
• Awareness raising to the heritage crafts and craft, led to the public in our partner countries;
• Educational tools to support our advocacy to the public.
